The Investigation of some Heavy Metals in Crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus) Inhabiting Kovada Lake
Abstract :
This study was carried out between 05.04.2005 - 23.02.2006 and was aimed to investigate accumulation of some heavy metals in muscle, liver and carapace tissues of crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus) inhabiting Kovada Lake. In this study, totally 32 crayfish were caught from different regions of Kovada Lake seasonally and investigated. The heavy metal analysis of samples were carried out by using ICP-OES. According to the results of the analysis of heavy metals were determined Cu, Mn, Zn, Al, Ni, Cd, Pb, Cr and Fe in tissues and organs of crayfish. It was determined that Al was the highest metal in tissues and organs. The highest metal concentrations were found in the liver and carapace than muscle.
