Abstract :
The aim of this study is to compare online problem based learning activities through the results of experts and peer evaluators which change on the basis of inquiry types (open and guided inquiry). For this purpose, six two-hour-teaching sessions lasting for two months was carried out with the students taking instructional technologies and material design lesson at Computer Education and Instructional Technologies department in Gazi University in the fall semester of 2013-2014 academic year. The data were collected through open inquiry proccess and guided inquiry process using “Problem based learning performance evaluation rubric” and “Group partner evaluation form”. According to the results of expert evaluation, guided inquiry student groups got higher scores than open inquiry student groups on rubric total scores. According to the results of peer evaluations, guided inquiry student groups graded their study group friends with higher scores than open inquiry student groups did. The results reveal that guided inquiry group students experienced more efficient study proccesses than open inquiry group students, and achieved higher performances.
