مرکز منطقه ای اطلاع رساني علوم و فناوري - SOLUTION SEEKING TO MEDIUM SIZED URBAN AREAS PROBLEM IN THE TURKEY: EXAMPLE OF ZONGULDAK

Abstract :

Medium sized cities/urban areas, possesses many advantages compared to both small-sized, and also large-sized cities. So, medium sized cities/urban areas can be a center of attraction. Unless medium sized cities/urban areas can take enough place and to be considered important in academic world and especially legal regulation, they can be confronted to serious problem of management and service. In this way, these cities/urban areas can be a center of problem. In this study, content of medium sized cities literature in world and Turkey, main problems of medium sized cities in Turkey, alternative models for solution and practices of these in Turkey has been theoretically drawn. And then the same issue has been examined the light of field work on example of Zonguldak Medium Sized Urban Area (ZMSUA). In this field work to be included all local authorities in the area. Also in this field work to be used method of face to face interwiev. And finally, in this study has been put forward to proposals for management and service problem of this area. The basic of proposals submitted to ensure the integrity of urban area in the Zonguldak Medium Sized Urban Area.
