ANALYTICAL NETWORK PROCESS APPLICATION IN THE SUPPLIER SELECTION DECISION
Abstract :
Supply chain management, is a process which includes the actions from purchasing raw materials and producing until the end of delivering products to the last user. The most important problem in a supply chain management is the supplier selection decision and this problem becomes more difficult because of the growing competition. Supplier selection problem is a multi-criteria decision making problem which includes both tangible and intangible factors. Decision makers’ most common issue is to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative elements within the same method. Analytical Network Process is a multi-criteria decision making model developed by Saaty. The decision makers can see both quantitative and qualitative, concrete and discrete factors at the same time by doing pairwise comparisons and obtain more realistic results with the help of Analytical Network Process.This study focuses on the supplier selection problem in supply chain management. The problem includes so many criteria and dependencies between the criteria so the Analytical Network Process is selected as the most appropriate method for the study. In this study, the application of selection of the most appropriate supplier is made in a special Automobile firm. Analytical Network Process and Goal Programming methods were used with the help of softwares in this application.
