Abstract :
One of the main functions of banks is to provide loans. In giving loan decisions in competitive market conditions, they try to protect themselves as much as possible from credit risk by analyzing the loan-demanding firms. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the commercial loan requests and to determine the importance bankers give to financial information in evaluating these loan requests. In addition, this study aims to help banks, which have an important role in the financial system, perform their most important functions properly. In the study, private and public sector bank employees of Turkey were surveyed electronically and by face to face interviews. As a result, intelligence of the companies between banks and in the market, debt collection status, financial structure and financial statements were identified as the most important factors. On the other hand, it was determined that bankers, in the process of loan evaluation, evaluate all kinds of performance companies put forward and give weight to the principal activities of the companies.
