Abstract :
Social capital, in general meaning, can be defined as the capacity and skill of gaining benefit and advantage of the individuals that form the society as a result of activities performed via official and civil memberships, social interactions, and connections. Practical works conducted in recent years have shown that social capital affects labor market outcomes positively. The purpose of this study is to estimate whether social capital has an effect of employment of individuals by examining it from the perspective of micro economy. For this purpose, examining the concept social capital, Data collected through a questionnaire applied to 1599 heads of household who live in the city center of four provinces in TRB1 region has been analyzed. Econometric logit models were estimated and in the light of the results obtained, the impact on employment of household heads of social capital were determined. The results of the estimated model, reveal that social capital has an influential factor on the employment of household heads. Accordingly, it has been found out that the probabilty of houshold heads employment rate inreases by approximately 1.37 as social capital increases.Other factors which are effective conjunction with social capital on the employment of household heads, have been determined as human capital and gender.
