Abstract :
As systematic, hostile, and unethical behaviors against employees, mobbing is a problem of public and private organizations, including universities. This study examines the relationship between perceived mobbing behaviors of managers and the job performance, psychological health and physiologic health of employees. The research uses a survey developed by Yıldırım and Yıldırım (2010) for measuring mobbing behaviors and its effects. The collected data from 108 academic personnel throughout Turkey was used to test 8 hypotheses through nonparametric Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Spearman Correlation tests. Research findings indicate medium level and positive linear relationship between perceived mobbing behaviors and job performance, psychological health, and physiological health of an employee who are subject to mobbing behaviors alone. A similar relationship was found only between the mobbing behaviors and psychological health of employees who are subject of mobbing behaviors at least with a co-worker.
