Human And Society In The Context Of Conservative Thought
Abstract :
Political ideologies are generally considered as a form of evaluation of the world in certain frames and patterns. From this point of view, every political ideology has a general set of assumptions about people, state, society and other issues, and explanations about human, state and social organization are made in line with these assumptions. At this point, conservatism is not seen as an ideology like other political ideologies. Conservatism is considered as an attitude or temperament by conservative theorists. Although its historical roots have been taken to very old-time, in the modern sense, conservative thought has evolved within the framework of the protection of traditions and values that society has against the projects of rational society construction in the Enlightenment period. Edmund Burke s criticism of the French Revolution played an important role in defining the character of the conservative thinker. Conservative thought on the basis of the protection of social values has opposed the violent changes that have every kind of revolution to be realized in the society and advocated evolutionist change in harmony with the conditions of the society. Thus the nature of conservative thinking differs according to the structure of the society in which it develops. Differences in the context of social structure will change the view of human beings and society in the context of conservative thinking.
