Title Of Article :
Factors Affecting Interest Rates In Turkey: An ARDL / Bound Test Applıcatıon
Abstract :
Interest rates, which play an important role in the economic decision-making mechanism, are an important factor to consider when deciding whether investors should invest or invest in saving or investing their savings. Changes in economic interest rates affect the daily lives of economic decision-making units and the economy as a whole. What is important about economic life is how interest rates are determined and what factors affect interest rates. There are many studies in the literature that examine the factors affecting interest rates. In this study for Turkey, money supply, public domestic debt stock, exchange rate, inflation, libor interest rate and consumer confidence index were taken as factors affecting interest rates. In this study, the ADF Unit Root Test and the Bound Test (ARDL) developed by Peseran et al. (2001) were used to determine whether there is a long-run relationship between the variables considered to affect the interest rates and interest rates, using the monthly data for the periods of 2007: 01-2015:12. As a result of the analysis, a long-run relationship was found between the variables considered as factors affecting the interest rate and the interest rate.
