Abstract :
Nowadays, Research and Development (R D) project selection has emerged as one of the most important investment decisions for the success of companies. R D project selection is a complex decision-making problem for the evaluation procedures involves multiple qualitative and quantitative criteria. This paper aims to propose the fuzzy TOPSIS model based on a group decision-making process in selecting R D projects. An illustrative example is presented in this paper to show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed methodology over the existing quantitative approaches. In this example, five alternative R D projects are evaluated based on six criteria by four decision makers and the best one is selected. In addition sensitivity analysis is used to see how sensitive the proposed model is to changes in the weights of criteria.
