Abstract :
Due to intense competition in the business world, marketing has become a very important activity. Businesses needed qualified marketing professional staff to conduct marketing activities. Marketing departments of vocational school of higher education to meet the needs of marketing professionals that are trained. However, the negative thoughts about the image of the marketing profession, appears to reduce the motivation of students in education and business life. The aim of this study is how students of the marketing perceive the image of the marketing profession, and to determine which factors influence to their perception.283 marketing students from two separate universities were made a questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis was applied to measure the image of the marketing profession to questions in the questionnaire. In the formation of the Marketing profession s image were found to be professional ethics, personality, professionalism, status and prestige effective factors. According to the views of students, marketing not seen as a respectable profession in society and marketers are not honest people. But students indicated that the marketing is important for business applications. That only one-tenth of the participants were selected the marketing profession for own ideal profession. An important part of the participants has chosen the marketing department for comply with university entrance score. About half of the students indicated that they want to go a different department.
