FACTORS AFFECTING THE LEVEL OF PHYSICIANS’ ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT
Abstract :
Organizational commitment means the extent of workers loyalty with his/her organization. In this study, it was aimed to identify factors affecting the level of physicians’ organziational commitment. The research has been carried out with physicians recruited to Ministry of Defense Samsun Military Medical Command to perform compulsory military service. A questionnaire was used as data collection method. A total of 298 questionnaires were distributed, but 235 (79%) returned. According to the results of the study, it was found that the level of physicians’ emotional commitment was differed by whether they were practitioner or specialist physicians (t=3,19, p 0.05) and their working place (t=2.29, p 0.05), but the working period did not affect their organizational commitment (p 0.05).
