Abstract :
The purpose of the study is evaluating the validity and reliability Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, which is intended to measure of university students’ emotion regulation skills, developed by Garnefski, Kraaij ve Spinhoven. The research has been conducted with 466 (156 female, 310 male) university students attending the Marmara University. Their age range between 18-33. Criterion related validity indicated that there was significant correlation between “Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire” and Negative Mood Regulation Scale-NMR (r=,-572). Cronbach alpha, item-total correlations, item remainder correlations, and test-retest methods were used to calculate the reliability of the inventory. Cronbach alpha coefficient of the scale was found “α=,784”; test-retest correlation coefficient was “r=. 1,00”. Item-total correlation co-efficiencies vary between “,188” and “,468” item-reminder correlation co-efficiencies vary between “,104” and “,392” According to the results of item analysis, all item had a high discrimination index value. Results of analyses showed that the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire is a valid and reliable measurement.
