Abstract :
Project-based learning is an analysis method that helps to resolve the problems of complex life situations, questions and uncertainties, and the use of this in education. Project-based learning has been used in higher education since the 1980s, especially in the training of medicine, nursing and engineering. In recent years, it has been used in the education, and as a new in the preschool education. In this study, it was aimed to improve the level of using the scientific process skills of preschool children with project-based training applications. For this purpose, Scientific Process Skills Test (BSBT) and science projects have been developed for preschool children by the researchers. The study group was formed with a mean of 6 years of 13 children which were attending to the Pre-School Implementation Unit of Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education. In the study, the control group could not be formed because of the inadequate number of the children and the pre-test and post test were applied to the same group of children. The differences between these tests were evaluated by SPSS program, quantitatively. In addition, prior to the project, during the project and during the presentation of the project children’s responses were recorded and analyzed qualitatively. At the end of the study; a significant difference was found in the preschool children’s ability to use of scientific processes as a result of the application of projects with preschool children. Additionally, during the implementation and the presentation of the projects, it was realized that the children conducted these scientific processes with success.
