Abstract :
Creativity can be described as both a process and generating an original outcome at the end of this process. Scientific creativity requires awareness of the steps that are taken and the problems which are solved during the process of generating an outcome. The purpose of this study was to examine the fourth-grade students’ scientific creativity levels in terms of several variables. The research was quantitative in nature. The participants were 75 fourth-grade students located in the district of Bağcılar, Istanbul. The data was collected through administering the “Scientific Creativity Survey” to the participating students. This survey was developed by Hu and Adey (2002) and adapted to Turkish by Kadayıfçı (2008). Also, in the current investigation, “Personal Info Form” was used to determine students’ gender, parents’ educational levels and students’ achievement in science and technology course. There was no significant difference between scientific creativity levels of students and their gender and parents’ educational levels. On the other hand, a significant difference was detected between students’ scientific creativity levels and their achievement in science and technology course.
