Abstract :
Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the 5E model enriched with conceptual change pedagogies on students’ conceptual change and conceptual persistance relating to comet, star drift and meteor. A quasi-experimental research method was used in this study. The sample of this study is composed of 72 grade 7 students at Trabzon Mimar Sinan Primary school. Semi structured interviews and two-tier open ended test were used in data collection process. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used in to group comparisons and Mann-Whitney U-test was used comparisons between groups. Semi structered interviews were conducted with 12 students in the experimental group. At the end of the study, it was found out that 5E Model Enriched with Conceptual Change Pedagogy had an effect on students’ conceptual change (U=309,5, p .05) as the difference between the experimental group and the control group are statistically significant
