The teachers’ views on student bullying behavior and investigation of learning environment
Abstract :
This descriptive study explores teachers’ perceptions of students’ bullying behavior and the contexts of student bullying. Research data are analyzed using the SPSS 19 package. Research is carried out in some towns and villages in Uşak in 2013-2014 academic years. The research sample consists of 192 primary school-teachers and 353 subject teachers. The sample consists of a total of 545 teachers; 248 female, 297 male teachers. In the study, three dimensions are determined including direct bullying, indirect bullying and verbal bullying. It is determined that students frequently resort to bullying behavior. Students learn bully behavior from classmates. Increased student academic achievements are concomitant with less frequent student bullying behavior
