Evaluation of Effectiveness of a Web- Based Instructional Material According to Brain Based Learning: “What Does the Earth’s Crust Consists of?”
Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to develop a web based instructional material according to brain based learning approach for concepts and topics of 6th grade “what the earth’s crust consists of?” unit and to investigate the effects of this material and the views of students and teachers about web based material. Mixed research was used in this study. The sample of this study consisteds of 58 6th grade students. Data of the study obtained from ‘What the earth’s crust consists of?’ unit achievement test, semi-structured interviews. At the end of the study, it was found that webbased material applied to experiment group hasd a meaningful statistically significant difference on increasing achievement than the existing instructional material applied to control group (t(56) = 2,27; p .05). In addition, students weare satisfied with their web supported training, although the application teacher who implemented the material thought that web- based instruction is effective but they stated that web- based instructional has some disadvantages.
