Abstract :
The aim of this study was to develop social and emotional learning scale based on self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making ability. A total of 905 adolescents participated in the study. The validity and reliability of this scale were examined with the classical test theory. The results of the common method bias revealed that the scale has a multidimensional structure. The exploratory factor analysis results were similar to the theoretical basis. Confirmatory factor analysis results for the five dimensions that existed in the theoretical background of the scale provided fitted between the measurement model and the research data. In addition, the 5-items short form of the scale had enough goodness of fit indexes. The findings of the research showed that the individual-centered social and emotional learning scale is psychometrically sufficient. The measurement tool can assess social and emotional learning in five key components.
