A Qualitative Analysis on the Application of Drama Method in Values Education
Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of the pre-school teachers about the importance of the drama method in gaining the values and to reveal the levels of using the drama method in the value education., The study, which was designed as a qualitative research case study, was conducted with 14 preschool teachers working in kindergarten and independent kindergartens in Erciş district of Van. In the study, interview technique was used from the qualitative data collection methods and the data were collected by semi-structured interview form. The data were analyzed by content analysis method. In the study, the findings showed that pre-school teachers frequently used drama method in value education, teachers found drama method useful for pre-school children and drama method was used to concretize abstract concepts such as values.
