Abstract :
The present study aims to uncover the perceptions of married individuals on the phenomenon of family peace/tranquility through their family life experiences and to evaluate this phenomenon over the basic concepts of family life. The research utilizes the interpretative phenomenological design, a qualitative research pattern. The study group, determined using purposeful sampling methods, consists of 18 married individuals whose time married range from 2 to 12 years. In the study, data have been gathered through semi-structured interview forms and transferred to the data analysis program NVivo 11; the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis has been used for analyzing the data. According to the findings from the study, family peace has been interpreted through the relation of basic needs inherent in the idea of being a family and the sensitive issues that shake the foundation of family life. Reflections on a family being peaceful/non-peaceful contain not only significant indicators of a strong and solid framework, but also consist of the deep attrition that may cause the family to divorce. In addition, the unsteadiness of family peace and its relationship with the concepts of happiness, harmony, satisfaction, and love have been explored, on which family-based studies have also focused. Based on the results from the study, various recommendations have been presented to researchers and practitioners.
