    INVESTIGATING THE PERCEPTIONS OF NURSE LECTURERS RELATED TO ORGANIZATIONAL KNOWLEDGE CULTURE

  • Abstract
    Objective: In recent years a number of methods have been developed to execute organizational information share. In the studies performed it was stated that organizations that will able to execute and proliferate information would be the most effective and productive ones. Those organizations which are able to form their unique information culture can reinforce organizational structure by enabling compilation, collection, sharing, regeneration and dissemination of all kinds of information. Accordingly, this study is a descriptive type of study carried out to identify the extent to which those nurse lecturers, working in higher schools of nursing, abilities to access, to utilize, share and disseminate information. Methods: An “Identifiable Information Form”, developed by researchers and included in the scope of research and contained introductory characteristics of the nurse lecturers and an “Organizational Knowledge Culture Scale”, developed by Tunç and Başaran (2004) were used in research as data collection tools. In the scope of research a total of 211 nurse lecturers who were working in higher schools of nursing in our country and accepted to participate in research were included. Data were collected through mail and e-mail between 01 May and 31 December after necessary written approvals were obtained from higher schools of nursing. Results and Conclusion: It was determined that nurse lecturers mean scores of organizational knowledge culture scale was at medium level (129.03±31.04) and their views related to organizational knowledge culture differed according to title and the total number of years spent in service, however they did not differ according to age and number of years spent in organization.
