USE OF HONEY AND MAGGOT AT WOUND CARE
Abstract :
The wound is usually defined as the disappearance of normal tissue integrity and there are many types of wound. Making the best wound care for all types of wounds is considered as main purpose. Different types of methods and materials on wound care are developing day by day, moreover results which sign to effectiveness of these developments are obtained even in very complex wounds. The use of honey and maggots which are based on very ancient period was unpopular when antibiotics were administered. Recently use of honey and maggots has up again. Maggots and honey have many positive effects such as acceleration of wound healing, reduction of wound infection, helping the formation of granulation tissue, and providing disinfection at wound care.
