Abstract
Object1ve: The research was planned and applied in a descriptive type in order to develop aform for the purpose of determining the opinions about transcultural care of nurses working in psy chiatry.Methods: This research included nurses who worked psychiatric clinic to Ege University Hospital, Dokuz Eyliil University Hospital and Manisa Psychiatric Hospital between May-June 2010. The sample group of the research was composed 197 nurses. in the research, Information Form and Nurses Opinions About Transcultural Nursing Care With Mentally Patients were used. The data were evaluated using number and percentage distribution.Results: Nurses, the cultural structure of health, illness, treatment and care is high awareness of the impact on that. They try to understand characteristics of different cultures better and more accurate by including patients families. Cultural characteristics of their own, are aware that effective on the applied maintenance. Concluston: The nurses who work in psychiatry can conduct transcultural care but they could not be professional enough in very specific some cases.
