ASSESSMENT OF NURSES PERCEPTIONS OF PATIENTSAFETY CULTURE IN HOSPITALS IN MAN/SA CITY CENTER
Abstract :
Objective: Reserach has been conducted to assest perceptions of patient safety culture of the nurses who work in hospitals located in Manisa City Center. Methods: This research is a descriptive and cross-sectional research. The population of the research has been constituted by 904 nurses who work in hospitals located in Manisa city center. Sample of 603 nurses who agreed work is constituted. The research data, personal information form and patient safety culture scale were collected between March 2014 and Apri/2014. In the analysis of data, percentages and arithmetical average, ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis variance analysis was used.Results: The average age of the nurses surveyed is 33.68±6.60. 51.7% of graduated nurses, 33.5% of working in a university hospital, 34.0 % in internal units and serves as 68.5% of the nurses. In research, patient safety culture scale of nurses average total scores are 2.8 7±0.40. Subscale they have the lowest score and error reporting of unexpected events (2.77±0.52), the lower height that has the highest score of the employee training is determined as (2.88±0.54). Nurses perceptions of patient safety culture with a average score of marital status, the hospital where they work, study year the significant relationship between their work unit and did not find a significant relationship between the other variables.Conclusion: In this study, it was found that nurses have on patient safety culture medium of perception.
