FINAL YEAR NURSING STUDENTS LEVELS OFJOB SEARCH WORRY (EMPLOYMENT ANXIETY) AND HOPELESSNESS
Abstract :
Objective: This research Nursing Department senior students employment concerns and made for the purpose of examining the levels of despair.Method:. The nature of this study was to evaluate the identifier/relationship seeker universe of Selcuk University Faculty of Health Sciences during the period of the spring of 2013-2014 academic year studying 91 has created a senior nursing. Questionnaire from and BECK hopelessness scale were used to collect data. .Data were analyzed with the number,percentage, Mann Witney U tests and Kruskal Wallis analysis.Results: Age average of the students is 22.3 7±0.915 and 78% are females. 65.9% of the students chose the profession on their own and 59.3% like their profession, and 51.6% do not recommend his/her profession. Median BECK hopelessness total points between those who likes his/her profession and those who does not like his/her profession were statistically similar (p=O, 112). Also, Median BECK hopelessness total points between those who recommends his/her profession and those who does not recommends his/her profession were statistically similar (p=0,697). More than half of the students do not feel worried about finding ajob and he/she think that he/she will find a job in a short time. Beck hopelessness points (9.6923±2.09599) were found moderate. Median BECK hopelessness total points between those who thinks of unemployment problem of his/her profession and those who does not think of unemployment problem of his/her profession were statistically similar (p=0,392). Median BECK hopelessness total points between those who has knowledge of difficulties experienced by graduates on finding ajob and those who does not have knowledge of difficulties experienced by graduates on finding ajob were statistically similar (p=0,578) Conclusion: In this research the final year nursing students expressed that they don t have concerns of unemployment as they believe there would be no difficulties obtaining employment following graduation and that they aren t aware of problems they may face after graduation.
