Abstract :
Divrighi is situated in the southeast of Sivas; in the upper part of Euphrates, near central Anatolia border of the East Anatolia. It is 1250 m. above the sea, and at the bottom of the River Çat which is a branch of Euphrates River. The first place of the city is the castle side hill and its skirts at the northeast of Çat Valley. Its first history is dated to Pavlicans to 9th Century and its today’s view belongs to Middle Age and Ottoman times. Castle Mosque became the subject of general articles; but there is no study about its general sides. In the contemporary publications we have the repetitions of the general knowledge. It is attractive that the travelers’ notes coming to Divrighi from the 1635 dates are paid attention, but the undetailed writings limit the studies. Today’s situation of the Castle goes back to Menguceks, and it is very important that it stands still. The project has started with general survey in 2006 and the cleaning in the Upper Church was done in seasons 2007
