Abstract
Turkey has been trying to join the EU for years. By comparing Turkey with the member countries, it is put forward that just a small portion of Turkey is included within the boundaries of the union, hence belonging to Asia and that it is a Muslim country. In this study, the following questions on the topic waiting for answers are intended to be replied: Do the boundaries of Turkey matter for the EU? Is Turkish culture convenient with the European one? What is the identity conception of the union and what is the place of Turkey? Such question has been looking for answers for years.
