Abstract :
The study aims to investigate the views of the primary school teachers towards the fifth grade curriculum on the development of reflective thinking skills. The study is based on the survey model. The study group consists of 160 primary school teachers from 32 primary school in Sivas. The views of the study group towards the effect of reflective thinking skills in the fifth grade curriculum do not show statistically difference depending on the some variables. The newly graduated teachers think that the programme does not improve the reflective thinking skills slightlier than the senior teachers. The teachers from faculty of Education do not agree more intensely that the programme improves the reflective thinking skills than the teachers graduated from other faculties. The results are in the way that the fifth grade programme does not improve the reflective thinking skills in general. It is suggested that the results of the study should be taken in to consideration, the deficiencies should be minimized and the need for improving reflective thinking skills in the fifth grade programme should be fulfilled.
