Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine the level of realization of the characteristics of a learning organization (to the dimensions of five disciplines) at formal primary schools according to administrator and teacher perceptions. The sample includes 58 administrators and 240 teachers in total composed of 298 people who work in city of Istanbul, Bayrampasa disctrict. As data collection tool, “Level of Realization of the Determination Scale for Learning Organization Disciplines at Organizations” was used. Analysis of the data were applied by calculating descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance and Mann Whitney-U tests. According to the result of the study, it is found out that characteristics of the learning organization in primary schools to the perceptions of administrators “high” and according to the perceptions of the teachers “medium” level. Perceptions differentiate in a positive way for administrators and teachers who have much professional experience for all disciplines. On the other hand, received training in educational mangement, the perceptions of administrators positively affects the all discipline dimensions. Also administrators and teachers find opportunities for personal and professional improvement at schools as inadequate. To the process of creating a learning school community, they need various encouragements.
