Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the concept of body in Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu‟s novel: Ankara. The novel tells the process from the period of Millî Mücadele (the Turkish national struggle) to the 1940s. In the novel, the process is divided into three periods. There is a remarkable relation between the psychologies of the characters and the developments of the period with the bodies of the characters. This relation surfaced in the description of the bodies, the perception of characters and the alterations of the bodies. The concept of body in the novel is used as an important element to tell the change, the maturation and the corruption.
