The Interest Towards to History: Kemal Tahir
Abstract :
In addition to being one of the major novelists, Kemal Tahir was also an important thinker. Trying to describe him with his own novelist personality means to imprison him in a narrow pattern. His works consists of many social topics. The most important one among these topics is his interest in history of Turkish society. He emphasizes that the roots of many problems that we have are hidden in history of Turkish society and for that reason the efforts of searching for a solution to problems are vain. According to him, understanding today is equivalent to understanding the past. If we understand the past and evaluate it very well, we can find a permanent solution for our problems. In this study, it has been explained why the history, especially the history of turkish society, is important for Kemal Tahir.
