مرکز منطقه ای اطلاع رساني علوم و فناوري - AN EVALUATION ON THE ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURE OF ISHAKPASA PALACE OF DOGUBAYAZIT ACCORDING TO THE OLD GRAVURES AND DRAWINGS

Abstract :

As one of the most important Ottoman’s architectural constructions that has survived to these days in The East Anatolian Region, Ishakpasa Palace of Dogubayazit with its stuation, architecture, and ornament features has attracked many domestic and foreign traveller’s attention since the middle of 19th century, and many of the palace’s gravure and drawings have published. It could be seen that there are so many differences between these gravures and drawings of architectural structure and the structure survived today. It is understood that gravures and drawings that serve detailed informaiton about the original architecture haven’t been benefitted enough in the restorations that have been done nearly 50 times. So, it is seen that by these restorations many elements belong to the palace’s original architecture have been wipeout with the irreversible mistakes. It is definetly necessary to be done a comprehensible excavation and restoration keeping in mind these gravure and drawings in order to deliver original Ishak Pasa Palace to the next generations.
