Abstract
Ceramic glazes are consisted of a combination of three components: fluxes, stabilisers and glass formers. Fluxes bring about flow and help the glaze to melt. In the glaze, the most powerful fluxes are the alkali oxides. As the main stabiliser using in ceramic glazes is alumina (Al2O3). The most important glass former is silica (SiO2). The most important factors which affect the physical properties of ceramic glazes are the unity formula (fluxes-stabiliser-glass formers) and temperature of firing. In this study, the effect of alümina-slica amount and ratio of on the ceramic glaze at 1000-1200 ºC were investigated. In order to determine the effect of the amount and ratio of alumina-silica on pysical properties of ceramic glazes, experimental studies were performed in two grups. Grup one investigated the effect of the amount and ratio of silica on the glaze. In this group, the amount and ratio of alümina and alkali oxsides kept constant, and slica increased. Grup two, the investigation centered on the effect of alumina on the glaze. Here, while the amount and ratio of silica and alkali oxsides were kept constant and alumina was increased.
