Title Of Article :
Some Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Promising Walnuts (Juglans regia L.) Genotypes Selected From Ahlat (Bitlis)
Abstract :
This study deals with some some physical and chemical characteristics of 15 promising walnuts (Juglans regia L.) genotypes selected from Ahlat (Bitlis). Promising walnut genotypes had 9.91-15.22 g nut weight, 5.00-6.24 g kernel weight and 40-52.3% kernel ratio. Their fruits (in 100g kernel) averagely contained 51.5-62.8% total fat, 15.5-23.3% protein, 2.2-4.2% ash and 1.0-2.4% moisture, 3.11% N, 399.55 mg/100g P, 616.00 mg/100g K, 169.04 mg/100g Ca, 296.27 mg/100g Mg and 20.25 mg/100 g Na. Their potassium content was found to be higher than those of the other mineral contents in all genotypes, this was followed by phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and sodium contents. In addition, Cu content varied from 0.35 mg/100g to 1.43 mg/100g.
