Determination of Fluid Milk Consumption Habits of the Students of Süleyman Demirel University

This study was carried out to determine the status of fluid milk consumption of Isparta Süleyman Demirel University students (1000 students). The respondents were randomly selected and the study was carried out on January-February 2009. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test was used for statistical analysis of the data. According to the results, 69.7 % of students stated that they liked drinking milk, those who consumed milk regularly was 34.2 % of the respondents. Reasons of dissatisfaction about milk were determined as the taste of milk (38.6 %) and odor (37.6 %). 81 % of all students reported that milk should be consumed at any age and 68.3 % of them found milk prices reasonable. Furthermore, it was observed that the knowledge of students about milk was limited and students prefer consuming milk in different ways.
