The Effect of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizer on Onion (Allium cepa. var. Valencia) Storage Cultivated in Seedling Growing Method
Abstract :
The experiment was carried out in the experimental fields of Odemis Technical Training College, Ege University in randomized block design with three replications. This study was conducted to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer on onion (Allium cepa. var. Valencia) storage cultivated in seedling growing method. Farmyard manure was applied 0, 20, 40 and 60 tonnes per hectar. NPK was applied at recommended dose (120:100:150 kg /ha^-1) and half of recommended rate of NPK (60:50:75 kg/ha^-1). During total storage duraction, in 1st year, the lowest weight loss of onion head was taken from control treatment, 40 t/ha^-1 manure and half of recommended rate of NPK treatments.
