Abstract :
This research was carried out to determine the winter bud fertility and the optimum pruning level in Bogazkere, Chardonnay, Italia, Kalecik Karası, Buludu, Çavuş, Karagevrek and Şam grape cultivars grown in Konya and Kayseri, in 2011. One bud canes which taken from 1.-10. nodes of one year old shoots of grape varieties in the research was planted in perlite growing medium in greenhouse misting units. Bud fertility of varieties (number of bunches/bud), forced to lead of dormant state one bud canes and then arousing the buds, by counting number of bunches on shoots were determined. As a result of research, on 5rd node of Boğazkere (1.89) of the maximum number of bunches/bud, 3nd and 4rd node of Chardonnay (1.55), 4rd and 5rd node of Italia (1.44), 4rd, 5rd and 6rd node of Kalecik Karası (1.33), 3rd, 4rd, 6rd, 7rd and 8rd node of Buludu (1.55), 4rd and 5rd node of Çavuş (1.00), 8rd node of Karagevrek (1.44) and 4rd node of Şam (1.22) were appointed. According to these results, medium-long pruned from 4.-5. buds of Boğazkere, Italia, Kalecik Karası and Çavuş, short pruned from 3.-4. buds of Chardonnay, Buludu and Şam, long pruned from 8.-9. buds of Karagevrek would be appropriate.
