Andic Soil Properties and Classifications of Soils Formed on Volcanic Ashes in Turkey
Abstract :
The fundamental physical, chemical and mineralogical properties of volcanic soils found in Turkey were determined and were compared with Andisol order features. For this, a total of 7 soil profiles developed on volcanic material were sampled according to horizon base from 3 different climatic regions of the country. Four profiles were sampled from Central Anatolia, 2 from Eastern Anatolia and 1 was from Mediterranean Region. All soil profiles were classified by Soil Taxonomy 2010 following physical, chemical and mineralogical analyses. The Andisol order properties were only determined at Delihalil profile located in Mediterranean region. Others soils although all have vitrandic properties were classified as Entisol (Nev?ehir1, Nev?ehir2, Nemrut1), ?nceptisols (Nev?ehir2 and Nemrut2), Mollisol (Kayseri).
