Title Of Article :
A Research on the Performance of Some Standard Plum Cultivars in Bingöl Ecology
Abstract :
Phenological characteristics of 4 standard plum verities ‘Stanley’, ‘Papaz’, ‘Black Beauty’ and ‘Giant’ grown in Bingol ecological conditions along with some physical growth characteristics of the trees were investigated in this study. Six trees planted by 4 x 4 m per varieties were employed and their growth characteristics were observed 7 times with a 15-day interval in a year. Result indicates that new shoots’ lengths varied from 227.00 (‘Papaz-3’) to 37.90 cm (‘Stanley-2’) and diameter varied from 16.40 cm (Giant-4) to 4.20 cm (‘Black Beauty-1’). The most diameter increase (33.40 mm) was observed in ‘Papaz-5’ while the lowest (18.00 mm) in ‘Stanley-3’ varieties. The full blooming for ‘Stanley’, ‘Papaz’, ‘Black Beauty’ and ‘Giant’ was recorded on April 30, April 28-30, May 1-4 and April 28-May 3, 2012, respectively.
