Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine bread wheat cultivars which were grown in Mardin-Kızıltepe ecological conditions of some important agricultural and plant properties in 2011-12 and 2012-13 growing seasons. Fifteen braed wheat cultivars (Tosunbey, Bezostaja 1, Ekiz, Pehlivan, Bayraktar 2000, Konya 2002, Doğu 88, Nurkent, Cemre, Karacadağ-98, Adana-99, Ceyhan-99, Karatopak, Basribey-95 and Gönen-98) which were officially registered, were used as plant materials in the study. The trial was conducted in randomized complete blocks design with the three replications. The characteristics such as plant height, spike height, numbers of seed per spike, seed yield, harvest index, biological yield and 1 000 kernel weight were investigated in the study. The highest seed yield per area was obtained from Tosunbey variety with 4 305 kg ha^-1 in first year, and 4 488 kg ha^-1 in the second year, while the lowest seed yield per area was obtained from Bayraktar variety with 2 018 kg ha^-1 in 2011 -12 growing season and 2 127 kg ha^-1 in 2012-13 growing season.
