Abstract :
Calligraphy in Erzurum ,which is a settling area, goes back to the years when the city met the Islamic culture since the early history of the region. The most famous calligrapher of Erzurum is Tahtacızâde Hafiz Mustafa Effendi. Most of the works of Tahtacızâde Fahim Hafiz Mustafa Efendi, who raised many calligraphy himself, were lost in Russian invasion of the region. Mustafa Fehim Efendi, who has an important place in calligraphy in Erzurum, died in 1891.
