Abstract
This study aims to provide an educational investigation of 3 Idiots,produced in 2009 and directed by Aamir Khan, and of Taare Zameen Par,produced in 2007 and directed jointly by Amole Gupte, Ram Madhvani and Aamir Khan. This study employed the quantitative case study method to investigate both the educational messages in 3 Idiots and Taare Zameen Par and the reception of these messages by education professionals. Towards that end,opinions of educational professionals were collected. Additionally, the authors analyzed educational dialogs and educational scenes in both movies. The study found that both movies are of significance for their educational messages concerning the education system and the field of education in their emphasis on individual differences and their criticism of rote learning. It may be of benefit in producing a paradigm shift in education if these and similar movies are considered to be teaching materials.
