The Effects Of Team-Assisted Individualization Technique On The Sixth Grade Students’ Mathematics Achievement And Attitude
Abstract :
In the present experimental study, the effects of team-assisted individualization technique of cooperative learning method on Elementary school sixth grade students’ achievement and attitude on the subject of “Sets” in mathematics course were investigated. The study was carried out with 56, 6th grade students from Alparslan Elementary School existing Palandöken District in Erzurum. In the study, experiment and control groups were used. Traditional instructional method was applied to the control group; on the other hand, teamassisted individualization technique which is one of the techniques of cooperative learning method, was applied onto the experiment group. The measurement instruments used in the study (mathematics achievement test and attitude scale) had been used as pre-test and post-test to the experimental and control groups. Acquired datas were analyzed through dependent and independent sample t-tests. According to the findings that are acquired after the research it was seen that cooperative learning method has had more positive effects on achievement and attitude in mathematics.
