Abstract :
It is aimed to identify profiles of learning styles of normal sighted students and sight disabled students attending at 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade of secondary school and how the several variables affect them in this study. The study was executed with the students studying at the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade in Secondary School of Sight Disabled People depending on Directorate of Ministry of Education in the province of Erzurum and 23 Temmuz Secondary School. “Kolb learning style questionnaire” developed by Kolb (1985) and translated into Turkish by Aşkar and Akkoyunlu (1993) and “personal information form” developed by the researchers. Frequency and percentage (%) distribution was used while the data was analyzing. According to findings, 40% of sight disabled students is “convergent”, %26,6 of them is “divergent”, %20 of them is “accommodator” and %13,4 of them is “assimilator”; and %56,8 of normal sighted students is “divergent”, %16,6 of them is “assimilator and convergent” and %10 of them is “accommodator”. It was observed that there was a difference between normal sighted students and sight disabled students. It was seen that there was a difference between sight disabled students and normal sighted students according to variables sighting, income level, grade, and education status of parents.
