Abstract :
The literature developing under the banner of the ‘Third World Approachesto International Law’ (TWAIL) analyzes international law in order to promote a fair and equitable approach to the countries of ‘developing’ world. The opposition to the prevailing system of international law is not a new phenomenon. The novelty of the TWAIL is to reformulate the classical Third World opposition to international law in the era of globalization. This article aims to demonstrate and evaluate critically the arguments provided by TWAIL from a political-economy approach.
