Abstract :
The business that does not take account of new strategies, methods or techniques in the field of management will no longer exist in the market place. On the other hand this case comes in to prominence in service business excessively. Because labor intensive service business strongly takes the advantage of management approach which focuses on human being. The customers are intolerant of waiting a manager for solving a problem. On this direction it is the management approachs’ duty to sell the employee on the work and see his self as the depends on employee empowerment. For this scope, hotel establishments as service business, their empowerment facilities intended for their employee and perceptions of the employee have been studied in this study. In this context, the study, which aimed to put forward the hotels’ empowerment activities practiced regarding to the employees from perspective of the differences within the frame of employee perceptions. Questionnaire survey was conducted for 1854 employees who have worked at 5 star hotels in city and resort hotels of Turkey. Then, the data was analyzed with statistical techniques. In this survey, empowerment was discussed into two main dimensions; behavioral and psychological empowerment. In the result of the survey, the empowerment applications was found to be inadequate. In addition, in the employees perceptions in relation with the behavioral and psychological empowerment, differences were determined that both as of general and as to the position (city/resort) of the hotel establishment they work.
