THE PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL WIEWS OF URBAN REGENERATION: BURSA KAMBERLER URBAN PARK
Abstract :
A number of projects about re-use of urban ruined regions are carried out also in Turkey as in the world in recent years. The urban regeneration project “Kamberler Urban Park” which is realised in the Kamberler Neighbourhood in Osmangazi District of Bursa Province is one of these projects. In this study, the transformation period of Kamberler Neighbourhood which is characterized as ruined region with its low standard and its irregular settlement within city centre Bursa into an urban park will be highlighted. During this period, the physical and social aspects of urban regeneration project will be emphasized within the scope of urban park example. Beside physical and social transformation in Kamberler Neighbourhood and around that are transformed to an Urban Park, and after implementation of the project, the perception of parkusers for the project and their evaluation are searched within the scope of this study.
