Abstract :
Global climate change and emission of greenhouse gases have become more apparent global problem over the last few decades. Buildings are a crucial sector for controlling energy consumption and therefore, greenhouse gas emissions. Buildings currently account for around 40% of the final energy use in the world. Green buildings minimize buildings’ effects on environment and humans. Many governments in order to achieve the energy efficiency promote green buildings. The purpose of this article is to provide an introduction to the concept of green buildings and to explain the American fiscal incentives experience and its implications for Turkey.
