CLASSIFICATION of DISTRICT TR72 TOWNS with FUZZY CLUSTERING ANALYSIS USING SOCIO-ECONOMIC DATA

In economy policies, socioeconomic indicators have an important place in determining the development levels. The determination and classification of the current social and economic structure of cities and districts are considerably important in analyzing the development of cities and districts in their probable development tendencies and in developing the regional development policies in parallel to this. It is essential to use fuzzy clustering analysis, whether clusters separated well or there is uncernainty in data. In this study, districts are classified by fuzzy clustering c-means method according to their development levels with the help of socio-economic indicators. The aim is to determine the homogeneous city groups having the same characteristics based on these indicators. Development level indices also calculated by fuzzy c-means method and interpretated. Analyses showed that district 72 towns separated into 4 clusters. Kayseri and Sivas central towns placed in the first cluster and Yozgat central town placed in the second cluster.
